How the Placement Works
Whether you're testing your English or another language, your vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, and grammar knowledge will be assessed.
General placement tests will give you an overall score and a level based on the CEFR scale. Berlitz Level Tests will return a Berlitz level. Learn more about Berlitz Levels and the CEFR scale here.
Technical Requirements
Please check the following technical requirements before starting the test:
- Latest version of Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer 10+
- Up-to-date Windows or macOS, or the latest iOS, Android, or Windows Phone if using a smartphone
- Sound card with external speakers or headphones
- Disable pop-up blockers and ensure the firewall doesn’t block the test
