telc German Exams in Augsburg

At level B1, you can communicate clearly and coherently in everyday situations, during travel, and about topics of personal interest. You can describe experiences, set goals, and explain your opinions. You generally use basic grammar correctly. Topics typically include work, public services, health, shopping, children, and housing.

The telc German B1 exam consists of a written and an oral section. The written portion lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. You have 20 minutes to prepare before the oral exam, which may take place on the same day or a different one.

Written Exam (2 hours, 30 minutes):

• 90 minutes Reading Comprehension / Language Elements (Vocabulary & Grammar)
• 30 minutes Listening Comprehension
• 30 minutes Written Expression

Oral Exam (15 minutes):

• Usually held with another participant

At level A1, you can communicate in very simple ways about concrete needs (e.g., introducing yourself, food and drink, shopping, housing). You are able to use a few very basic grammatical structures.

The telc German A1 exam consists of a written and an oral section.

Oral Exam (approx. 11 minutes):

The exam fee is €159 for telc A1, €179 for telc B1, and €189 for telc B2. The telc C1 and C1 University exams each cost €229. You only pay once your exam spot is confirmed. The price includes exam administration, support on the exam day, and official correction and evaluation by telc.

Your telc exam will take place at the Berlitz Language School in Augsburg – centrally located at Karlstraße 12, 86150 Augsburg. Our friendly team and calm test environment will help you feel at ease so you can focus fully on your exam.

After the exam, your exam documents are sent to telc gGmbH for grading. Results are usually available after about 4 to 6 weeks. Once grading is complete, you will receive an email from telc with a link to download your digital telc certificate.

Please notify us as early as possible. With a valid doctor’s note, your registration can usually be transferred to a later date.

The oral exam lasts about 15 minutes and is typically taken with another participant. You’ll have 20 minutes to prepare beforehand. The oral part can take place on the same day as the written exam or on a different date.

Yes, that’s possible. Our telc prep courses are optional, but they’re very helpful for becoming familiar with the exam format and typical question types.

Please bring a valid photo ID (e.g., passport or national ID). Optionally, also bring your exam invitation if you received one by email or post.

Yes, that’s possible. If you have already passed the oral or written telc exam at another exam center, you can take only the missing part with us. Please bring your previous result to registration so we can register your partial exam correctly.
